Newfoundland and Labrador vital certificates

Birth, marriage and death certificates are official documents issued by the Vital Statistics Division of Newfoundland and Labrador for events registered in the province. They are commonly required for passports, a Social Insurance Number, estate and pension matters, name changes and many other everyday processes.

Many people find the request process unclear, especially when ordering on behalf of a child, a relative or as an authorized representative.

Our role is to help you prepare and submit your request correctly, with your authorization, so the information reaches the Vital Statistics Division complete and error-free.
